🏗️ Pergolas (Louvered)

What's the difference between manual and motorized pergolas?
Motorized: Louvers rotate via electric tubular motors. Controlled by remote, wall switch, or optional smart sensors/APP. Requires electrical connection (230V or 110V).
Manual: Louvers adjusted by hand crank or lever. No wiring needed. Simpler installation, no electrical work required.

Both versions use the same aluminum frame and louver system.
How waterproof is the pergola when closed?
When louvers are in the fully closed position, the pergola achieves IP65 water resistance. Each louver has EPDM rubber seals along both edges. Rainwater flows through internal channels to corner downspouts — no dripping between louvers.

Important: This is water resistance, not 100% waterproofing. In very heavy driving rain with strong wind, minimal water ingress is possible at the edges.
What wind speeds can the pergola handle?
Our motorized pergola is engineered to withstand sustained winds of 120 km/h (75 mph) with louvers in the closed position. This meets requirements for most Australian non-cyclonic regions (Region A and B per AS/NZS 1170.2).

If you're in a cyclone-prone area (Region C or D), contact us — we can discuss reinforced options.
Can it handle snow?
Yes. With louvers closed, the structure handles 35 psf (1.68 kPa) snow load. For heavy snow regions, we recommend the reinforced beam option. In any case, we recommend clearing heavy snow accumulation as a precaution.
What foundation do I need?
A level concrete slab, pavers, or compacted gravel base with minimum 150mm thickness. Chemical anchor bolts are included for concrete/paver installation. Full foundation requirements are in the installation manual.
Can I install it myself?
DIY-friendly with 2-3 people and basic tools. Assembly typically takes 1 day. The electrical connection (motor wiring) must be done by a licensed electrician. We provide a printed manual and video guide.
Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?
Yes, with the optional Smart Hub upgrade. The hub connects to your WiFi and integrates with Alexa, Google Home, and the Tuya smart home ecosystem. The mobile APP (iOS/Android) is included with the Smart Hub.
What happens if the power goes out?
Every motorized pergola includes a manual crank handle. Each motor has an override port — insert the crank and turn to open or close the louvers manually.

🚗 Carports

Which carport configuration is right for me?
We offer 6 configurations:

L-Type (Cantilever): Space-efficient, single row of posts. Best for driveways with limited width.
M-Type (Gable): Classic peaked roof, two rows of posts. Best for freestanding installations.
Wall-Mounted: Attaches to existing building. Minimal footprint.
Extended Coverage: For multiple vehicles, boats, or caravans.
Flat Roof: Modern low-profile design.
Y-Design: Architectural statement piece.

Not sure? Send us photos and measurements — we'll recommend the best configuration.
Will the polycarbonate panels yellow over time?
We use Bayer Makrolon® polycarbonate (or equivalent certified grade) with co-extruded UV protection on both sides. Under normal conditions, color change after 5 years is less than 2 ΔE — barely perceptible to the human eye.

Budget PC panels without proper UV coating can yellow noticeably within 2-3 years.
Can I park a tall vehicle (SUV, caravan, boat) under it?
The standard side height is 2.2m, peak height is 2.4-2.8m depending on the configuration. This accommodates most SUVs and 4WDs. For caravans, boats, or trucks, contact us — we can customize the height.
Is the carport waterproof?
The roof panels and sealed joints are waterproof. However, carports are open-sided structures — driving rain from the side can enter. If you need full weather protection on all sides, consider adding optional side panels, or look at our parking tent for a fully enclosed option.
Do I need council approval?
Requirements vary by location. In many Australian councils, carports under a certain size (typically 25m²) may be exempt from development approval if they meet setback requirements. We recommend checking with your local council before ordering. We can provide structural specifications and wind rating documentation to support your application.

🪴 Greenhouses

Aluminum greenhouse vs polytunnel — which should I choose?
Aluminum Greenhouse Polytunnel
Lifespan 15+ years frame, 5-10 years panels 10+ years frame, 3-5 years film
Appearance Permanent, attractive Functional, temporary look
Insulation Better (twin-wall PC) Moderate (PE film)
Assembly 4-8 hours, 2 people 4 hours to 1.5 days
Portability Semi-permanent Portable, relocatable
Best for Serious home gardeners, permanent setup Budget-conscious, rental properties, beginners
Still unsure? Tell us what you want to grow and your budget — we'll recommend.
Why polycarbonate instead of glass?
  • 200× stronger — won't shatter from hail, cricket balls, or falling branches
  • 44% better insulation (U-value ~3.2 vs ~5.7 for glass) — warmer in winter, cooler in summer
  • Diffused light — no concentrated hot spots that scorch plants
  • Blocks 99% UV — protects plants and prevents fading of pots and tools
  • Safer — no dangerous glass shards if impacted
  • 50% lighter — easier assembly, lighter frame required
Do I need a building permit for a greenhouse?
In most areas, small freestanding greenhouses under 10m² do not require a building permit. Larger structures may. Check with your local council. We can provide structural documentation if needed.
How do I anchor the greenhouse?
All our greenhouses include a galvanized steel base frame and ground anchor stakes. For soil/grass: drive the stakes through the base frame holes. For paving/concrete: use masonry anchors (not included, available at any hardware store).

Proper anchoring is essential for wind resistance. An unanchored greenhouse can be damaged or displaced in strong winds.
Can I add automatic vent openers?
Yes. Automatic vent openers are available as an optional upgrade. They use a temperature-sensitive piston — no electricity needed. The vent begins opening at approximately 22°C and is fully open at 28°C. Contact us to add this to your order.

☂️ Retractable Awnings

What's a "full cassette" awning?
A full cassette awning has a sealed aluminum box that completely encloses the fabric and arms when retracted. This protects the mechanism from:
  • UV damage (fabric doesn't degrade while not in use)
  • Rain and moisture (no mold growth on stored fabric)
  • Wind-blown debris and bird droppings
  • Dirt accumulation
When retracted, only the clean aluminum cassette is visible — much neater than open or semi-cassette designs.
What's special about Sauleda fabric?
Sauleda is a Spanish textile mill with 60+ years of experience. Their solution-dyed acrylic fabric is used by superyacht builders, luxury hotels, and high-end architectural firms.

Compared to generic awning fabric:
  • Color retention: Grade 7-8 fastness (barely fades after 5+ years) vs generic fabrics that visibly fade in 2-3 years
  • Mold resistance: Built-in anti-mold treatment (no annual re-treatment needed)
  • Certified: OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — tested for harmful substances
  • Feel: Soft textile hand, not stiff or plastic-like
What wind speeds can the awning handle?
  • 0-40 km/h: Normal operation, safe to extend
  • 40-60 km/h: Operational limit — extended use is OK, but the wind sensor (if installed) will trigger retraction at 40 km/h
  • 60-80 km/h: Do not extend — keep retracted in the cassette
  • 80+ km/h: Keep retracted

Important: Retractable awnings are shade structures, not permanent roofs. They must be retracted in strong wind. The optional wind sensor automates this.
Can I install it myself?
Installation requires mounting the cassette to a solid wall (masonry, concrete, or structural timber) and connecting to a 230V electrical supply. Two people recommended. The electrical connection must be done by a licensed electrician.

If you're comfortable with structural mounting and have wall access, it's a 3-4 hour job with our video guide. If you're unsure, we recommend professional installation.
Is the fabric waterproof?
Sauleda acrylic fabric is water-repellent, not 100% waterproof. Light to moderate rain will bead and roll off. In sustained heavy rain, some moisture may penetrate. The awning is designed primarily for sun protection with rain resistance as a secondary benefit.

If you need a fully waterproof outdoor cover, consider our aluminum pergola or carport instead.
How do I clean the fabric?
  • Monthly: Brush off loose dust and debris with a soft brush.
  • Quarterly: Rinse with a garden hose (low pressure only).
  • Annually: Gentle clean with mild soap + lukewarm water (<30°C), soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Never: Pressure washer, solvents, bleach, or abrasive cleaners.

⛺ Parking Tents

Is the parking tent waterproof?
Yes. The 180G PE laminated tarpaulin cover is H²O Block certified waterproof. The fabric is a woven polyethylene core with PE lamination on both sides — rain beads and rolls off. The cover extends to ground level on all sides for full weather protection.
How does it hold up in wind?
The tent includes a 3-part anchoring system: helical ground pegs, elastic ball tie-downs on the cover, and 4 corner wind ropes. When properly anchored, it handles gusty conditions well.

For permanent installations in consistently windy areas, we recommend adding concrete anchors (sold separately at hardware stores). In storm conditions, we recommend monitoring and clearing snow accumulation if applicable.
Can I leave it up year-round?
It's designed for seasonal or semi-permanent use. With proper anchoring and maintenance, many customers keep theirs up year-round. However, the fabric cover will eventually degrade from UV exposure — expect 3-5 years of continuous outdoor use before the cover needs replacement (available separately).

If you need a permanent vehicle shelter, our aluminum carport is a better long-term option.
Will my car get scratched?
The frame is outside the cover. The interior is smooth PE fabric with no metal contact points. The cover attaches to the frame externally via elastic ball tie-downs. In normal use, there should be no contact between the structure and your vehicle.

We recommend leaving 30cm clearance on all sides when positioning your vehicle inside.

🔮 Bubble House / Dome

Can I install the Bubble House myself?
We strongly recommend professional installation. The dome requires precision frame assembly, panel fitting with weather seals, electrical wiring, and (if using the bathroom) plumbing connections. Improper installation can compromise the IP65 waterproof rating.

Professional installation is available in select Australian metro areas. Contact us for availability and a quote.
Does it need a building permit?
In most jurisdictions, yes. The Bubble House is considered a permanent or semi-permanent structure, especially if it has electrical and plumbing connections. Building permit requirements vary by location. We can provide structural specifications, wind rating documentation, and SGS certification to support your application.
Does it get hot inside in summer?
The PC panels block 98% of UV and a significant portion of infrared heat. The dome includes:
  • Manual sunshade curtains (top + side, velvet fabric)
  • A square ventilation window
  • The door can be opened for cross-ventilation
For hot climates, we recommend adding the optional air conditioning kit. Contact us to discuss climate-specific configurations.
Can I join multiple domes together?
Yes. The modular design supports splicing — connect two or more domes with an optional tunnel connector. This is popular for glamping sites (sleeping dome + bathroom dome) and restaurants (multiple private dining pods). Contact us for multi-dome planning and specifications.
How is the bathroom plumbed?
The SMC base includes bathroom-ready plumbing connections (water supply in, waste out). You'll need a licensed plumber to connect to your site's water and sewer/septic system. The exact setup depends on your site conditions.
